Introduction to Welding


Ever wanted to stick metal together? Now’s your chance. This beginner-friendly workshop is your gateway into the world of welding—where sparks fly, metal bends, and your ideas become possible.

Through lively discussion, real-time demos, and plenty of hands-on practice, you’ll learn the fundamentals of oxy-acetylene and MIG welding, torch and plasma cutting, heat bending, and how to safely use the essential tools of the metal shop. Whether you’re dreaming of sculpture, furniture, DIY, or just want to try something bold and new, this is your moment to dive in.

No experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity—we’ll supply the gear, guidance, and scrap steel. Leave with new skills, new confidence, and maybe even the start of your next great project.

Mold Making and Resin Casting


Make It, Color It, Cast It!

Ready to dive into one of the most versatile and exciting materials in the art world? In this fast-paced, hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the magic of resin—a durable, pigment-ready medium that can mimic anything from polished stone to shimmering metal to glossy candy. Whether you’re into sculpture, printmaking, love making cool stuff, or just really want to fill your life with new, fun experiences then this workshop is definitely for you!

In just one day, you’ll learn the fundamentals of rubber mold making and some clever, unexpected techniques to make a mold of your object. Then we’ll break out the pigments and resins and let you discover/play—pour, tint, and cast your own original pieces. No experience required (it’s easier than you think!)—just bring your curiosity.

All materials are provided, and the creative possibilities are endless. Come ready to get a little messy and leave with something amazing.

We made stuff! I can not recommend Sue Latta enough as a teacher. And a human being. If you’ve ever thought about learning how to weld or do any wood working, check out The Sculpture Studio. I feel like I have mastered the fundamentals and could continue welding on my own. It’s doable!
